  • Gary Clyde Jones, 68 of Malvern passed away on December 19, 2017. Gary was born to the late Clyde H. & Virginia L. Jones in Malvern, AR on January 22, 1949. As a young man Gary was ordered into active duty in the U.S. Navy Reserve where he served with B Company 1st Medical Battalion 1st Marine Division in the Vietnam War. He earned several ribbons and medals for his outstanding service.  He was a faithful member and Deacon of Meadow View Missionary Baptist Church. Gary being an avid hunter and outdoorsman was also a member of B & R Hunting Club.

    Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde H. & Lois Jones and a sister, Betty McGill.

    Gary is survived by his wife of 48 years, Darla Burkes Jones of Malvern; his son, Ryan Jones of Magnet Cove; his daughter, Shelly (Andrew) Daily of Donaldson; his sister, Sharon Koller of Hot Springs; and his grandchildren, Sadie Daily of Hot Springs; Jalyn Daily of Donaldson; and Sydney Daily of Donaldson. Gary also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Donna (Mark) Samiec of Downers Grove, IL; his brother-in-law, Roy McGill of Hot Springs; 3 nieces, 2 nephews and many other friends and loved ones.

    A Memorial Service for Gary will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 10:00 am at Meadow View Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Shaun Holland and Bro. Jerry Wallace officiating . Visitation will be at 9:00 am prior to the service, starting at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Meadow View Missionary Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers are the members of B & R Hunting Club, Al Sutton, Mike Langhorne, Bro. Tim Lankford and Vernon Dollar.

    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Meadow View Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund for Arkansas Hospice.

    Very sorry for your loss. I hope you can find some comfort from the words at Psalms 147:3 that says; "He is healing the broken hearted ones and is binding up their painful spots." God as the hearer of prayer will comfort you in the days ahead as you remember Mr. Jones.

    I am so sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences. May the God of all comfort sustain you as you await the promises found at John 5:28,29 and Rev. 21:4 where God promises to do away with all the things that cause us suffering and pain including death here on the earth forever.(Psalm 37:29) It is my sincere hope that these thoughts comfort your family at this time.     I am heartbroken to find out about Gary. He was such a special man to my entire family. I know Grandma Jerry is so glad to see him again in Heaven! Please know we send our love and prayers.
